Over the past few years, both the on and off-trade have taken enormous strides to ensure alcohol is retailed responsibly.
Off Licence News and the Morning Advertiser are holding a morning seminar to discuss the issues facing the industry and what's next on the government's agenda.
Now in its fifth year, this year's conference will address how to encourage personal responsibility with tips on how to empower and educate oneself with the information required to retail responsibly, how we communicate this to staff and consumers and what lessons can we learn from the Scottish experience.
Industry speakers include:
- Derek Lewis from the Drinkaware Trust
- Simon O'Brien, Association of Chief Police Officers
Delegates will have the chance to share their concerns via interactive workshops and panel debate. The workshops will focus on:
Training the Drinks Retailer - Should there be mandatory training for all personnel selling alcohol? Has Scotland got it right? Chaired by Cathie Smith, director of BIIAB
JD Wetherspoon
Stella Artois
The effectiveness of responsible drinking messages to consumers (point-of-sale, ad campaigns etc.) Chaired by Diageo.
