Gerry Sutcliffe to open 2008 Awards

Responsible Drinks Retailing (RDR) is an initiative run by the Morning Advertiser and Off Licence News which has been at the heart of the responsible drinking efforts for the last four years.

The on and off-trade have taken enormous strides to ensure alcohol is retailed responsibly. The conference in the morning will address what more the trade can do and what is next on the government's agenda.

Following the conference, will be a three-course awards lunch. The awards aim to highlight and reward retailers who serve alcohol to the highest and most socially aware standards - whether they run off-licences or pubs.

Winners of the RDR awards will come from all areas of the trade and will demonstrate to government and the public that our industry is making a huge contribution towards changing the way alcohol is sometimes abused in the UK.

And this year we are delighted tto have the support of Gerry Sutcliffe, Minister for Sport, Gambling and Licensing who will open and present the awards.
